Pretty little peonies..

Hello everybody..
Today I am sharing two cards which are quite similar design wise but include some experimentation. :) I had made these cards also for Curtain Call inspiration challenge but missed the deadline :(

I drew inspiration from following picture..

I wanted to create that bouquet with magenta and orange color flowers so I chose pretty Little Peonies stamp set from Wplus9. This stamp set builds up slowly and results are just awesome :) So here are my cards..

My first card is  5"X 7" in size. I stamped these peonies , leaves and stems on a watercolor paper with Wplus9 inks and water colored the background  with  salty ocean distress ink. Then I stamped few leaves from same stamp set tone on tone on this bluish card base.  Then I cut a banner in black card stock and heat embossed the sentiment in white. To finish the card I stick the white panel to card base and foam mounted the banner. That completes my first card but I wanted to experiment further..
I had a thought of trying these inks and stamp on white card stock (not water color paper). So In second card I created this bouquet on white card stock and didn't watercolor background also. While stamping it looked gorgeous but as we know die inks are absorbed into the paper, they faded a little.
In this experiment I got better results with watercolor paper..:) I assume rest of the steps don't need explanation.

Hope you like these cards..

Congratulations with Bouquet

Hello everybody..

Every time I think of participating in a challenge one strange thing happens. I design the card and for one or the other reason I am not able to post it till the last date of submission..lol..Does that happen to you too? This time I made three cards for Curtain Call Inspiration challenge but could not post them and missed the deadline by a margin of few minutes :(
So I am posting them in my coming posts just to share what I made.
The inspiration picture for this month is very beautiful Bouquet as you can see..
I got my inspiration from those beautiful pink and orange flowers. And here comes my card....

you can have a closer look in the following picture..

My card is 5"X 7". I started with white card stock and die cut a frame from MFT  Inside & out Diagonal Stitched rectangle stax. I stamped this flower pattern from Penny Black jubilant stamp set in Black memento ink and then water colored flowers with distress inks (picked raspberry and spiced marmalade). For leaves I used mowed lawn and peeled paint. And for butterfly I used my basic sketch pens.

Then I headed over to my white card base and stamped those stripes again in black memento with basic borders stamp set  from Mama Elephant.  I foam mounted the bouquet panel and to add the sentiment I used Tag talk die. This beautiful die set has recently been added to my die collection and I am quite excited about it. I die cut congrats tag in black card stock and provided backing with golden tag. Isn't it gorgeous?
To finish my card I tied golden twine to this tag and foam mounted this too. I like the outcome a lot :P

Hope you like it..
I was planing to enter this to curtain call challenge April 15 - Bouquet  :(

Layered love card

Hello everybody

I am here with a quick post..One of my friend wanted to gift a card to his wife on valentine's day so I designed this card for him. He and his wife both liked it a lot so thought of sharing with you all..:)

I started with die cutting hearts on a white card stock. I used smallest dies from spellbinder's plain and scalloped  hearts alternatively, stick them with washi tape and die cut them. After completing die cutting I put this card stock on card base and with the help of pencil drew the outlines. Further I kept this card stock aside and sponged hearts in red and pink on card base areas confined to pencil outlines. To make it valentine's day card I stamped few elements in black and white from Avery elle lots of love stamp set set.
Now coming again to card stock layer having die cuts I stamped sentiments from Penny black from the heart on it. To create some more drama I used Ranger's love birds stencil and sponged birds facing each other in black and heart in red :)
I foam mounted this complete panel on the card base and that completes my card ..:)
Hope you like it..
I would really appreciate  your comments..

Love you mom

Hello crafters..
Mothers's day is around the corner..So I am here with a super colorful card for mom. I drew the inspiration from the following image

I have come up with this card..

To replicate the square - diamond pattern in the shirt I used stencil (Crafter's workshop mini cubist) over white card stock  and sponged the various colors present in the shirt. To highlight the blue color of eye shadow and hairs I sponged blue memento to top edge.
Further I used lawn fawn speech bubble border die to cut a border in orange card stock and  did some tone on tone stamping on it. Tone on tone gave it a beautiful yet simple look as stockings of the model.
I adhered this border to the white card stock and after leaving a stripe size blank space I adhered a black stripe to it. I sponged black soot distress ink very lightly to the blank space. The purpose for all this exercise was to include her shoes :)  I applied wink of stella on black stripe to create some more interest.
First glace at the beautiful model makes me think of orange color may be because its presence both in her shirt and stockings. so I provided orange matting. Finally I foam mounted it on white card base..
Considering the upcoming mother's day and cheerful background, stamped the sentiment from technique tuesday mama love on orange circle die cut and gave a black scalloped matting to enhance it. and then foam mounted it to add some dimension.
I am quite happy about how it turned out. I am linking it to Runway Inspired Challenge # 81..
Hope you like it..
Thanks
